Our Bullhead/Laughlin fly-in really couldn’t have been much better! Though our attendance was a bit lower than average, I'm pleased to report that only a few that signed up for the event were absent due to their local IFR conditions. Ironically enough, the folks at Sun River Aviation at Bullhead City Airport had started informing all Mooney pilots of our upcoming event a few weeks prior to our arrival. Due to this, an additional five Mooneys joined us for our luncheon/meeting at the Colorado Belle. We therefore had 27 Mooneys and 46 people in attendance. Due to this and the additional sales of T-Shirts and Hats at this fly-in, we're finally in the black after our first six months and showing a positive balance of $141.50.
The board of directors extends our sincere appreciation to all of you that attended, for fulfilling your commitment of signing on for this event. The staff at the Colorado Belle did a great job of welcoming and accommodating us. The luncheon was presented very well and the food was delicious and plentiful. Nobody left there hungry!
Several attendees spent the night in Laughlin and met for dinner at the River Palms Casino. We were also greeted by several members the next morning on the ramp readying for departure. Though the surface winds were 26 to 30 kts Saturday morning upon our arrival, they couldn’t have been better for a Sunday morning departure. Again a good time was had by all and we’ll hope to see you again at our February fly-in.
