On Saturday May 8th Vintage Mooney Group made its first ever trip to Globe,
AZ and the Apache Gold Casino. The weather was perfect. High cirrus
providing some shade, and light breezes for our arrival.

After the usual 'talkin & gawkin', on the ramp we boarded the promised bus
for the long trip across the street to the casino.

Whereupon, I provided a head count to management. Security then showed up
and handed out the vouchers for $15 in cash. We then proceeded to our
private banquet hall for a most delicious, and free, lunch of roast chicken
and roast beef, of course there was Caesar salad, and choice of chocolate
cake, and fruit pies for dessert.

We must not forget Paul Thompson who heads the Group tour dept. who acted as
emcee for the entertainment portion of the event; consisting of traditional Apache song
and dance provided by 3 local high school girls. Thanks to the Apache
people for being such gracious hosts to all of us.
After the meal, and brief remarks by Ozzie we adjourned to the casino for
some gambling. I'm sure some of us (me) returned the $15 to the casino.
However, I'm aware of some people (my wife Debi) who left with more of the
casino's money.
For most of us the return flight would prove to be a bit more turbulent than
the arrival. Winds and temperature both picked up...to be expected in
Arizona in the summer.
Speaking for Debi, and myself, we had a great time. We want to thank all who
participated. If the casino is willing I would like to make this an annual
event.
Sincerely,
Larry & Debi Berger
