Dear VMG Flyers,

Larry Berger has setup a very special fly-in to Globe, Arizona on May 8.  We will be flying to San Carlos Apache Airport in the hills to the east of Phoenix.

Larry has arranged for lunch at the adjacent Apache Gold Casino & Resort and they will be doing a few things for us VMG'ers.  First, they will provide us with a private dining room and comp us for lunch.  What Mooney pilot cannot appreciate a free lunch!  And they will also give each of us $15 in chips if you are a gambler.

Schedule of Events

Saturday

8:00am-11:00am: Arrivals and Ramp Time with friends on the ramp.

12:00: A free lunch will be provided by the Resort in a private dining room at the adjacent Apache Gold Casino & Resort.  We will have two choices offered to us; 1) Roast Beef au Jus, or 2) Herb Baked Chicken.  Both will be accompanied by Caesar salad, roasted red potatoes, fruit medley salad, sweet peas w/pearl onions and variety of dessert cakes and pies.  There will also be a demonstration of Apache traditional songs & dances during lunch.

1:00pm: Awards & Recognitions, VMG Introductions & Mooney Tales

Afternoon: Go see the Besh-ba-Gowah Archeological Park. Besh-ba-Gowah is an ancient ruin and a remarkable restoration of a Salado pueblo, inhabited in the 12th- and 13th-centuries. Walk through the rooms of this 700-year-old pueblo, climb ladders into the upper stories, and see the utensils, pottery and furnishings that were part of life in pre-Columbian times.  Besh-ba-Gowah is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm, except Christmas Day. Cost is $3 per person.
