The Vintage Mooney Group
was established in August 2003
to promote the fellowship, camaraderie, and a venue for spectacular fly-ins
in the Western USA. We enjoy the opportunity to share our
Mooney specific knowledge, our experiences, our safety tips, and our pride
of Mooney ownership with each other.
As an added bonus, we appreciate the prospect to develop new
friendships. To become a member simply show up at one of our fly-ins.

Fly-in to Camarillo, CA (KCMA) on June 23
Please join us for my favorite place to go, with the BEST airport restaurant
in all of California. This place is located in a picturesque
valley near the southern California coast just inland of Oxnard . The
date is Saturday, June 23 and lunch at around 12PM. Airplanes to arrive at 9
AM and later for some greeting and ramp time. The restaurant is located at
the East and approach end of runway 26. When taxing off of 26 ask ground to
go to Cafe or transient parking and they will direct you along taxiway
foxtrot eastbound.with the yellow cenerline joining a white line to the
Cafe.
We most likely will sit outside on the patio
overlooking our beautiful Mooney's and the planes coming in on 26 with more
great scenery of rolling hills in the background. Only Saturday, Sunday, and
Wednesday the Cafe serves the worlds Best tri-tip sandwiches, the tri-tip is
cooked on a woodburning outdoor grill near the patio and the smell will make
your mouth water. It is served on garlic bread that is also grilled on the
grill. I make the sandwich even better by asking them to add grilled
onions, pepperjack cheese and mild ortega chilies. The sandwich comes with
the best baked beans and one other side item, like fries, sweet potato fries
or worlds best onion rings.
All their food is five star restaurant quality and their breakfast and lunch
menu is amazing. The best biscuits and gravy anywhere along with ALL their
breakfast items which are served all day. For those who want to eat healthy
you can't find a better chicken cobb salad in all of So Cal.
As you can see I love to eat great food and that is
why I fly their usually 2 to 3 times a week.
