Greg
Ellis -- In 2006, my wife, Sundie, decided
that I needed to join my head that was in the clouds. She went out and
bought me our Mooney. Instead of a big wedding, we flew our newly purchased
Mooney to Taos, New Mexico and eloped. I am one lucky guy!! We fly our
Mooney everywhere we can and every chance we get and take our 2 chihuahua's
along. They love it!
Dave
Morris -- In January, 1983, Dave's wife announced she was
pregnant, so he quickly drove out to the nearest airport and signed up for
flying lessons. Six months later, he got his private pilot's ticket, and as
predicted, 3 months later had little money to do much more flying until his
son Talon grew up. In 1992 he
started building an experimental (a Dragonfly with a Corvair engine). But
after working on that for 14 years, he realized he preferred flying to
building, so he sold the project in 2006, bought a 1960 M20A, and became a
Mooniac. Dave is a self-employed entrepreneur whose companies include
several web sites, an aviation video production company, and a leather
fashion accessory workshop. His other
hobbies include Scuba diving and ham radio.
Harley
Myler -- Back
in 1974, Harley went to pickup a Bonanaza with a friend and got to
co-pilot and was amazed by the fact that his roommate's father was
flying the plane. Even though he was only a year out from an engineering
degree, he was awed because he had thought that to fly an airplane meant
that you made a career of it. During that magical flight he resolved
that someday he would be a pilot.
After serving in the US Army as a Missile Systems Officer and getting
two more engineering degrees, he found himself back in Orlando in 1986
as a Professor of Engineering at the University of Central Florida.
Shortly after, he earned his wings and became a private pilot. Tenure,
job-pressures and family got in the way of flying and it wasn't until
the spring of '09 that Harley got back into the left seat. Once he got
current, he bought N5976Q, a '66 M20E Super 21, and commissioned Flight
Training Inc. out of KSAT to teach him to how to fly it. Harley now
flies regularly and loves his Mooney.
Parker
Woodruff has been flying since 2004. He is a commercial pilot and certified
flight instructor. He purchased his first Mooney, a 1990 M20J-AT, in
February of 2009 and has seen all the way from Washington to Florida in
various M20 airframes. Parker operates a flight school out of the Waco
Regional Airport in central Texas and assists clients in other general
aviation needs through his company, Legacy Aircraft. He bases his Mooney
out of the TSTC Airport in Waco.
