The Gold Country Fly-In, hosted by Chris Floyd and Drew
Stidger was great. More than 30 Mooneys showed up as well as 30-40 Muscle
Cars. The weather was perfect as always, but a little exciting flying over
California with most of the state shrouded in smoke. It all started on
Friday with a catered dinner at the winery. On Saturday morning, breakfast
started at 8am with eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. Then lots of Mooney
Wing Talking followed by lunch at 12:30 with BBQ'd chicken and tri-tips!
It was a lotta fun sharing the ramp with some very cool
muscle cars, some of which were probably older than some of our vintage Mooneys.
I think we collected more than $800 for the Fire Fighter's Burn Institute.

A special thanks to Chris Floyd for doing yet another superb
planning and execution of what is becoming a legendary Fly-In. The parking
& safety crew was flawless as well as the Grill Team!!! And if all that
wasn't good enough, we had a great band with "Over the Edge" who entertained us
all over lunch.
See everyone at our next fly-in to on September 21-22 at the
West Coast Seaplane Festival. We have been invited as guests and it should
be a lotta fun.
